When only the 3 “public” courts are in the rotation…
If the number of players is 16 or less…
- A single wait queue will be used.
- Games will be played to 11 points. Do not use the “win by 2” convention unless there are NO players waiting to play.
- At the end of the game, the winning players will stay for the next game, but will split so they will play against each other. Exception: if a player has won 3 games, they must “retire undefeated” and join the wait queue.
- The losing players will join the wait queue.
- Paddles are to be inserted at the left end of the queue, and retrieved from the right end, for the next game.
If the number of players is more than 16
- A two-queue system (GOLD and SILVER) will be used.
- Games will still be played to 11 points. Do not use the “win by 2” convention. Both the winning and losing players will exit the court and join the wait queues.
- The winning players will place their paddles in the GOLD queue, and the losing players will use the SILVER queue. Always place your paddles on the “inside” of the queue (i.e. in the “middle” of the queue area rather than at an “end” of the queue area).
- When a court opens up at the end of a game, new players (always 4 players) will come from one of the queues (GOLD or SILVER) in alternating sequence. The players whose paddles are on the “outside” of the queue will grab their paddles and head out to the empty court. Players who were on the same team in the previous game must play on opposing teams in the new game.
